PMC bid to get plots fails to yield results

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) administration’s efforts to acquire 46 state-owned plots, which are reserved for public use but face a constant threat of being encroached upon, are not yielding results. The reason, say PMC officials, is that the district collectorate has referred proposals to hand over the plots to the civic body, to its regional offices for verification. “The PMC has been repeatedly urging the collector’s office to hand over these plots to the civic body so that they can be developed for public purposes.
